Staying in Motion: Try new things & learn the lessons
After nearly 20 years in nursing, I’ve learned that staying in motion isn’t just about climbing the hospital leadership ladder — it’s about personal evolution. I’ve lived through the shift from bedside to management, balancing degrees, leadership responsibilities, and self-discovery. And like many of you, I’m still learning how to thrive in the process.
This blog is my creative outlet — a space to reflect, reset, and remind myself (and you!) that life is about progress, not perfection. There’s no need to dwell on the past or stress over the future. What matters most is the present moment and what we choose to create within it.
So, let’s talk about nursing, resilience, leadership, and lessons learned along the way. Let’s explore what it means to stay in motion — professionally, creatively, and personally. Because growth doesn’t happen when things stand still… it happens when we move. 🌿

Guard your health
At 22, as a new nurse, I realized how fragile life truly is. When you care for patients who cannot move, eat, or even think for themselves, you quickly understand that every breath and every heartbeat is a gift. Life can change in an instant — and waking up each morning with the ability to move freely is something I no longer take for granted.
The Journey Through Growth and Change
My journey from ADN to DNP was not just about degrees; it was about transformation. Along the way came the life chapters many of us experience — leaving home, getting married, raising children, facing financial hardship, and even navigating divorce. I’ve felt the pain of watching loved ones grow sick, losing parents, and struggling to stay afloat. But with each trial, I found deeper lessons about self-discovery and resilience.
Finding Healing and Balance
There was a time when stress began to show itself physically — through alopecia, acne, and even precancerous cervical cells. Those were the warning signs that my body and spirit were begging for rest. In that stillness, I redefined what success meant and rediscovered what truly matters most: peace, purpose, and wellness.
The Power of Reflection and Purpose
I started writing as a form of healing and expression — a creative outlet that allowed me to merge both my nursing career and my personal transformation journey. My goals now align with living intentionally, protecting my mental and physical health, and inspiring others to do the same.
If you’ve ever felt lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step — you’re not alone. The process of finding balance and redefining success is messy, but it’s also powerful. I hope that through Alchemy in Motion, you’ll discover your own lessons and embrace the journey of turning challenges into strength.
Thanks for joining me on this path toward healing, growth, and purpose. 💫
