How to Conquer Quarterly Tasks to Crush 2025

My Nurse Innovator Journey

Christmas Tree at the Adolphus Hotel, Dallas Tx., Dec 2024

I just finished listening to one of Ali Abdaal’s YouTube videos about productivity. I like the way he explains the process of conquering adventures or quests on a quarterly basis vs yearly goals. I agree that with yearly goals, we often wait ‘until tomorrow’ because we have a subconscious perception that we have longer to accomplish such goal and this often leads to procrastination. With quarterly quests, we can take more of a ‘bite-size’ approach to getting things done.

I bought my yearly planner yesterday and outlines my adventures for the next 3 months. I didn’t overwhelm schedule, but my goal here is the weekly consistency in the form of a task, towards working on my nursing tool and documenting the journey.

In 2024, I clocked in at least 100hrs with an analyst, I listened to several books on self-development in the area of growing an invention, idea, business, etc. I also worked with multiple units at the hospital, and we collectively did an awesome job in our nursing results while using my tool I presented my project and tool at the business office and then again to the lawyers partnered with the hospital and I know have a provisional patent pending as well as a Trademark in progress. What a year! I remember making mental notes throughout the year of ‘By next week, I will email such and such person’ or ‘by the end of this month, this specific PowerPoint will be completed’ and that how they year went. I will be even more intentional in 2025 about the clarity of my quarterly tasks and in writing these down.

Happy New Year to all!
