How to be Fierce in your Pursuit of Profitable Tactics.

Nursing tool validation with a statistical analysis.

Let’s briefly catch up on what has happened in the last month since the previous post. I finally received the statistical analysis report for my nursing tool and the bill was close to $3,600. I know, that is a lot of money to most of us but the universe provides when you do your part. I am paying for it with my business account (trying to keep expenses separate from personal). I think I mentioned it previously but I got a bit of a discounted rate given that I work at the hospital and the Biostatistical department offers a discounted rate for in-house work.

Once I received the report, I think the billing department expected to be able to charge the department. I explained that due to the copyright involved (which also belongs to the academic center), I was paying for this out of pocket. I was added as a vendor and that solved that.

In talking to my mentor (my liaison from the office that helps with start-ups and copyrighting in my academic center) he mentioned that investing (paying for the statical analysis) in the tool was a great thing. He said in his recent experience, those who had done the same had a tendency to become very successful. His words were encouraging and inspiring to continue the journey. His point was pretty much go for it, put in the time and money, and be fierce in the pursuit because in the end it pays off.

I did request to add the methodology of my project to the statistical analysis report, as well as any pertaining references to identify it as my work. According to the copyright office I’m working with, the next step is to present to the business office. I am waiting to get the report back with the methodology included before presenting.

More to come 🙂
